(Ottawa, ON December 8, 2012) – The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC) would like to extend our most sincere congratulations to Tony Pollard, this year’s recipient of the Pinnacle Award’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tony has been President of the Hotel Association of Canada ( HAC) since 1991 and a tireless advocate and spokesperson for the Canadian hotel industry his entire career. In addition to his role leading HAC, he has been a key member to CTHRC’s Board of Directors, acting as Treasurer since the Council’s inception in 1993.
“The Council greatly appreciates the on-going commitment and dedication Tony brings to the table for the CTHRC. His support and advocacy of emerit training and certification resources and the labour market information that informs the industry of current and expected issues facing the sector has added currency to our image. It is great to see his countless contributions to the industry over the years recognized through this award,” said CTHRC President Wendy Swedlove.
The Pinnacle Awards are presented annually by Foodservice and Hospitality magazine in recognition of contributions to the image of the industry through civic, educational and community involvement as well as their efforts in establishing innovative concepts in foodservice or hotel management.
